Random Thoughts and Anecdotes

This is my horoscope for today:

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You sometimes wonder whether past hurt will really disappear if you revisit it and process it. The answer is a resounding yes, especially if you make the effort this afternoon.

Now I am upset.  Because I really do not feel like “processing” anything this afternoon. I have too much work to do and when I get home I really need to do some laundry, clean the downstairs toilets and put together a package I have been promising to mail to a friend.  So what am I supposed to do with this? And exactly what “past hurt” are they referencing?  I guess I will do the same thing I always do – ignore it but keep checking back for that one special horoscope that tells me it is time to purchase a lottery ticket.

On my way to work this morning I was driving 5-10 miles over the posted speed limit and this black SUV was pretty much on my ass all the way down Hwy 48.  I wasn’t really aggravated; I mean this is the exact same thing I do to others but usually only if they are going less than the posted speed limit.

I turned left off the highway and the black SUV that wanted to mate with me kept going straight. Of course I glanced through the window to see who my suitor was.  She was a woman about the same age as me.  Sadly I just wished I could be her friend.

You know you are getting damned old when you get royally pissed off to look in your rear view mirror and see a cop car behind you.  Long gone are the days when you get all freaked out and worry that you are doing something wrong and might get pulled over.

Same difference when you see a cop car on the highway and no one will exceed the speed limit to pass them, resulting in a huge back up of cars all going 65 mph.  Not me.  If they want to give me a ticket for going 5-7 mph over the speed limit, fine.  I am going to pass them.  Using my blinkers and driving in the proper passing lane, of course.  But I do put on one of my Bible Sermon CD’s just in case.

I had to print out my blog and send it to my father-in-law (don’t even go there about his accessing the Internet.  His son is his official HELP DESK and we just don’t want to go there).

So he read my book of blogs and made the comment:

“You know, you write an awful lot about yourself. You might want to watch that.”

Just for that I am now working on a blog all about him.  Don’t worry, I’ll send him an email asking for permission and tell him if he doesn’t respond I will take that as a yes.
